For some reason, Lower Mainland BC is not only getting a great deal of snow, but at the end of February of all times, when winter is on its way out. I suppose it's possible that kind of snowfall is common in some places at this time of year, but not where I live. I was sitting in class, which has a window, and I could see the snow fall on the courtyard. During a very dull student class presentation that I was supposed to give my full attention to, but no one else did, I stared absentmindedly out that window. As I was watching the snow fall, I thought of an idea for a thread, which this forum definitely needs more of.
I started thinking of a couple of my favorite videogame tracks based around winter. Unfortunately, as someone who has been gaming for a very long time, I've heard countless tracks over the years, and it's difficult to even come up with a list of my favorite games of all time, let alone a list of tracks, even if I go for a specific theme. I usually just post whatever I can think of, off the top of my head. In this case, a couple of tracks came to mind.
Though I consider myself a Harvest Moon fan, I have yet to come across a game in the series that resonates with me like Back to Nature. The winter track for this particular game is fairly nostalgic for me:
I went on a Key visual novel kick a while ago, but since my Japanese isn't nearly good enough to play these games without any kind of English whatsoever, and I refuse to play pirated English roms, I just settled for watching the anime adaptations. However, Kanon struck a chord with me, and I actually purchased the psp download from the Japanese ps store. I'm not sure when I'll get around to playing through it, since, my familiarity with the anime aside, I only understand basic stuff, like what's going in in the first scene. That said, I do like the game's soundtrack(most of which is in the anime). This particular track came to mind today, as I watched the snow fall at my school:
Alright, I think that's sufficient enough to get the discussion going. As winter turns to spring, what are some of your favorite winter tracks in videogames? The ones I chose are slower paced, but you can post more upbeat tracks if you wish.
