The next entry in The Legend of Zelda will be the working title Hyrule Warriors, a game that has been confirmed NOT to have a place within the official Legend of Zelda timeline. Below is the teaser trailer:
It's being co-developed by the Dynasty Warriors creators, so this game…could be…bad. Though it's been stated that the game will not be a part of the official timeline, I can't help but wonder if this could take place prior to Skyward Sword. Those who have read the Hyrule Historia will be familiar with the fact that the series' origin story is told in the back pages of the book in the form of a graphic novel. The first Link (a.k.a. the Link before Skyward Sword Link) lived in what would be the future Hyrule prior to Skyloft's creation. This Link wore a scarf…a red scarf, mind you, but a scarf nonetheless. On top of that, he was in the frontline in the middle of a heated battle between good and evil (this was glazed over in the Skyward Sword prelude). In short, I wonder if Hyrule Warriors will be looking to go into detail with this story in the game?

Sounds like that girl has trouble keeping a man. Maybe she wasn't the one for him.

Hyrule's appearance in Zelda Wii U was just revealed at E3 today. The game boasts a greater exploration value a la The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Link's appearance in the game: As for the game's place in the timeline, my current prediction is that it takes place between Skyward Sword and The Minish Cap. There is a blank spot on the timeline that is labeled with the founding of Hyrule Kingdom; I feel like the untamed world shown above is evidence of a pre-Hyrule world. Your thoughts?

I’m starting to think that I should have taken a look at Hyrule Warriors when I was at E3 2014. There was some sort of Zelda video game on the show floor in the Nintendo Booth. That must have been it. You will need to forgive me though. I have drifted so far away from Nintendo over the years that I don’t really immerse myself in their affairs anymore. I also don’t agree with their views on YouTube and user generated content (this is a big deal). The only Nintendo video games that I took a look at this year were Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Bayonetta 2.

I'm not particularly intrigued by Hyrule Warriors myself unless the reviews come back strongly positive, which I don't suspect will occur.
