So, I was at my weekly boardgame group, and one of my friends got a card that said she had a permanent soundtrack that had to play everytime she had a turn. Another friend played a weak-sauce track from some casual app game, so I made myself the soundtrack guy. Anyways, that friend and two others were criticizing my "terrible choice in music". I opened with this:
I played a couple tracks from Chrono Trigger to much the same reception. I even played this, which one friend found annoying:
Thankfully they at least liked the Castlevania theme, but come on! One of them who's an older guy claims to be a gamer, lol. Right. Apparently he used to play games on a Commodore 64...yeah, that system was known for its soundtracks./s In any case, I have to wonder if my friends are deaf, lol. I can't imagine anyone with working ears would think these tracks are anything but great.

That's absurd! Video games are home to some of my favorite compositions of all time! In fact they probably take up the majority of my iTunes library. Try playing them a recent favorite of mine:
Ugh, don't get me started on app music. Sometimes I feel like more effort could have been put into those. I don't know how my mom has played through over 2,000 levels of Candy Crush and hasn't gotten sick of the repetitive melody that loops after four or five bars.

IKR? Seriously, app game music just isn't as good.
