Yeah, I think Sony won this year, but I think all three companies at least showed why they should stick around, even if it's because they can count on their fanbase. In other news, I just noticed I reached 107 subscribers. A 100 subscriber special is coming at some point.

Thanks. I just opted for a quick acknowledgment, instead of an elaborate thing, but yeah, it's a milestone nonetheless.

Sony's indie titles look marvelous. Entwined, Abzu, and No Man's Sky all have my attention. I've had my 3DS for a year and a half, and I too have yet to get into Phoenix Wright despite how much my college roommates have recommended it. I think I'll have to check out the collection when it hits the eShop.

Disney Magical World: I'm still surprised at the reception this game's been getting! Like you said, it seems like there could be a million things wrong with it. It's cool to hear that it's enjoyable, but I don't know if a copy of the game is in my future. It would take a big price drop and some serious thought (and maybe an exhaustion of my 3DS backlog).
Fantasy Life: I feel torn about this. I haven't really exposed myself to any sims, and this game seems like an RPG without the RPG elements I expect. However with names like Level 5, Nobuo Uematsu, and Yoshitaka Amano, this game must be special for such major names to be associated with it. Hmmm.

However with names like Level 5, Nobuo Uematsu, and Yoshitaka Amano, this game must be special for such major names to be associated with it. Hmmm. For DMW, I will admit, given the reception, I was actually expecting this game to be somewhat mind-blowing. It's not that. It's not nearly as in depth a sim as Animal Crossing, except maybe for the ability to switch out your bottoms, in addition to tops, and accessories. However, as I said, you also don't feel chained to the game. DMW is not a commitment like AC. It just isn't, and I couldn't be happier about that. You have a cafe, but you don't run it. You decide how it looks, and what to serve, and that's it. You return periodically to collect your money, and restock. Given how Hometown Story turned out, even though it's about running a shop, not a cafe, this portion could have gone wrong in so many ways, if the player had more involvement. Otherwise, the dungeon crawling aspect is ok, and the atmosphere in the hub world is relaxing and stress free, which is something I've come to associate with Disney. You might get a few real time sidequests, but people don't get mad if you fail them. They seem to be beyond easy going. FL could easily end up playing like the Crystal Chronicles games, and it may be trying a little too hard to incorporate wrpg elements, but it's got some good people behind it, as well as a great studio, so here's hoping my reservations are misplaced.

Digital Downloads: I'm not against digital, but I do prefer buying retail. Like you, I prefer to be able to see and touch my purchases. I am somewhat saddened to know that we are headed towards an all-digital future, but as long as machines come with plenty of space, I won't complain. It's really the only reason I've been hesitant to download anything on my PS3; 40GB was huge back in 2008, but now 500GB is the bare minimum amount of HDD space that any machine is equipped with nowadays, which beats out my 2009 MacBook Pro (250GB). Current Gen: Yeah, that was on my mind too. Everything's coming out in 2015, but not so much in the near future. I suppose it's to be expected since we're still early into the new gen. Post-E3 Lull: I don't feel like I'm experiencing as extreme a lull as I usually do for some reason. I suspect that it may be from the fatigue brought upon by my 7-day-a-week job. Though E3 usually brings a lot to the table, I feel like Gamescom and GDC both tend to have a lot of nice announcements as well (they're just not as heavily publicized). And then there's TGS, which scarcely has anything new to show off (though PLEASE give us a release date for Final Fantasy XV this year). Brief side note; I just realized something obvious! Epona's back!

Epona's back! You work 7 days a week? Ouch! I personally prefer to have at least one day off a week myself. My schedule's up in the air now, mind you. I have school on Thursdays, but my job decides to schedule me whenever they feel like it. At least your job's consistent. I had an 80GB HDD on my old ps3, but even that was hard to work with. I can't imagine working with half of that. I have plenty of space on my 3DS's memory card though. I managed to get a 32GB for a reasonable price, and downloading this particular game didn't make much of a dent in it. As for the current gen, I realize I should give it a chance to get going, but I still, ideally, want my ps4 to be my new main system, and that's not happening for a while. Granted, that's probably a good thing, until Sony updates the ps4's UI, and includes obvious things, like the ability to browse the vita channel.

I have no clue as to how many games I could store on mine at the moment. I see that a lot of people are clamoring for the ability to change their usernames. That doesn't sound terribly hard to do, so maybe it might be time to grant that request.

That doesn't sound terribly hard to do, so maybe it might be time to grant that request. I believe the default memory card is 2GB, but I managed to make it work for quite a while. Truth be told, the 32GB card was overkill, but I figured I would rather not have to ever worry about space again. I highly doubt I will buy many more full retail games digitally, though I didn't think I would buy one. However, that didn't end up taking up as many blocks as I would have thought. Memory on the 3DS defies all logic, but in a good way. I'm going to assume 3DS games just aren't that big in size. I imagine someone who primarily buys digital would still need at least a couple 32GB cards, which is the biggest size the system supports, but you'd think memory would be a much bigger issue than it is. It helps that the system uses a common memory format.

Did you know that the literal translation for Ni no Kuni is Another World? Perhaps that's why they didn't bother translating the title.

Did you know that the literal translation for Ni no Kuni is Another World? Perhaps that's why they didn't bother translating the title. I speak enough Japanese to know that that's what I would translate it as. Technically, that's not a 100% literal translation, but the literal translation would sound even worse. Kuni means country or land, and ni is the number 2, so a literal translation would be Land 2. However, straight literal translations don't always make the most sense in our language, and even when they do, they don't always sound good, so you could call it The Other Land, and world is as good a synonym as any to land, so that's how someone can arrive at The Other World as a translation. Of course, it still sounds best when left in its original language, so that's probably why it was.

Batman: I'm in the same boat. I don't own them yet, but I have been meaning to get them. I blame two things: my backlog, and the fact that Arkham Asylum takes up 3GB of space. I guess I could always free up some space, but…I don't like doing that. I'm complicated. Virtual Console: I agree with you completely. It makes no sense for Nintendo to release handheld titles (that were MEANT to be played as handhelds) on the Wii U as opposed to the 3DS. Are they trying to give the Wii U an edge on sales? Perhaps, though I don't think anyone would buy a Wii U just for DS re-releases in the eShop. It would make more sense to release titles for BOTH systems. But I suppose that's just me.

Yeah, my old system dying on me worked out in the sense that I have 500GB to work with now. It would be fine if GBA and DS games were released on both systems. But, if they're released on only one, why is the console getting them? I still love Nintendo though. They get on my nerves with stuff like this, but they also do some good things, so I still support them. They're not like Microsoft, who just gets on my nerves almost every time they do or say something, with the occasional exception(I actually didn't mind the MS at E3 this year).
